Find out what your numbers are actually telling you

Before you decide where the business is going, you need to trust the picture of where it is.

Who this is for

Your books get done every month. Someone reconciles the accounts, the reports come out, and on paper it all looks fine.

But you've had the experience of looking at a number and thinking, that can't be right. Or you've made a call based on a report and been surprised by what happened next. Or the P&L says profitable and the bank account says otherwise, and nobody has explained the gap in a way that made sense.

You're not looking for someone to tell you the books are messy. You already suspect that. You're looking for someone to tell you what it's costing you and what to do about it.

What’s actually wrong

Most owners we meet are making good decisions from bad inputs.

You paid tax on profit you never actually had, because deposits got booked as revenue and the loan draw got counted twice.

You took a distribution the business couldn't cover, because the balance sheet said there was room and it wasn't right.

You raised prices on the wrong service, because the one you thought was your margin leader was carrying costs that got coded somewhere else.

You held off on a hire for two quarters because the numbers looked tight, and they weren't.

None of these look dramatic in the books. They look like a misclassified entry. But every one of them ends with you making a call you wouldn't have made if the number in front of you had been right.

That's what the Diagnostic is for. Not tidiness. The decisions that follow from accuracy.

What you get

Step 1: A straight answer about what you're working with

We go through the books, the chart of accounts, the entity structure, and how transactions actually get recorded. Not a spot check. The full picture, including the parts nobody's looked at in years.

Step 2: A written assessment you can act on

What's accurate, what isn't, what it's cost you, and the specific things to fix in the order they should be fixed. Plain language, with dollar impact where we can quantify it. This is a document you keep, not a presentation you sit through.

Step 3: A number for what comes next, before you decide anything

Cleanup is scoped and quoted as part of the Diagnostic. We walk through the findings together, you ask what you want to ask, and you leave knowing exactly what it would cost to fix. Whether you move forward is a separate decision, and there's no obligation attached to it.

What it costs

That covers the full review, the written assessment, and the working session. It's fixed, so you know what you're spending before we start.

Cleanup, if you need it, is quoted separately once the review is done. We don't estimate it up front because we'd be guessing, and a guess that turns out low is a conversation neither of us wants to have three weeks in.

The Diagnostic starts at $3,500

When this isn’t the right fit

If your books are already clean and you know it, this isn't what you need. Start with Numbers for Freedom™, which is where accurate books actually get put to work.

If you're under roughly $300K in revenue, the Diagnostic is probably more than you'd benefit from right now. We don't make recommendations we don't believe are in your interest, and this would be one of them.

And if what you're after is a team to hand off tasks to without engaging, we're not the right fit. We're interested in building long-term, meaningful relationships with the owners we work with.
